Progress Update - July 2025

Posted on 24th July, 2025

Since reopening on the 1st May 2025 under the auspices of Bisley Shooting Ground, Bisley Sporting Rifle has seen a complete transformation in just a few short weeks.

From a standing start in April, the clubhouse has been fully refurbished. It now features a modern reception area, gun room, and office, with soundproofed walls and new glazing. The result is a welcoming and professional space where customers can enjoy a coffee while watching the shooting, free from noise disruption.

The target systems have been completely replaced. New installations include two running boars, a 100-yard moving deer, and six electronic static targets. The static system, designed by the new team, is fully retractable and automated. Member feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting that paper targets are now rarely needed thanks to the precision and clarity of the new system.

The Time Limit Range has been fully refurbished and now offers a smart, open space suited to miniature rifle training and corporate use. New turning and duelling targets have enhanced its appeal and functionality.

Since reopening, demand for lessons has steadily grown. Instructors have received additional training to support novice clients, helping to create a welcoming experience from the outset. The deer stalking community in particular have responded positively, with several describing Bisley Sporting Rifle as the best facility of its kind in the UK.

In the past few weeks, the Air Rifle and Archery Range has opened, offering 50 metres of flexible space in a secluded part of the complex. It is already attracting significant attention. This complements the new 10-metre indoor Air Rifle Range in The Pavilion Bisley and further expands our reach to a wider audience.

The pace and quality of delivery since April is a credit to the team at Bisley Shooting Ground, who have brought the facility up to a modern, professional standard in record time.
